Purpose
The Mapped Ratings feature is an essential tool to enable system administrators to map risk matrix cells from a child project to those of its parent project.
This process standardises risk evaluation across project hierarchies, ensuring consistency and clarity in risk assessment.
Important Notes
- The Mapped Ratings feature must be enabled in the settings.
- Only a System Administrator can configure mapped ratings.
- Projects must be organised in a hierarchical structure where the parent project uses a different risk matrix from its child projects.
Step-by-Step Guide To Create a Mapped Rating
- Navigate to Admin > Risk Matrices
- Click the Mappings button located in the top-right corner of the risk matrices admin page

- Select Source and Target Matrices:
- For the Source Risk Matrix, choose the child project’s matrix and select the appropriate Severity Category.
- For the Target Risk Matrix, choose the parent project’s matrix and select the corresponding Severity Category.
Once you select both the Source and Target, mappings initially appear as ‘Not mapped’.

- Map the Rating Score:
- Select a rating score from the Source Risk Matrix (e.g. 17).
- Select the corresponding cell from the Target Risk Matrix (e.g. 25).
- Click the green Map button below the Target Risk Matrix.
- The mapped ratings will be displayed in the columns below.

- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all required ratings
- For the Source Risk Matrix, choose the child project’s matrix and select the appropriate Severity Category.
To Update a Mapped Rating
- Reselect the new cells from the source and target matrices and click Map. This action replaces any previous mapping.
To Delete a Mapped Rating
- Click on the mapped cell in the source matrix and select the Unmap button.
To see the Mapped Ratings from the Risk List View:
- Scope to the parent project and access the Risk List View.
- Apply the Map Ratings filter (set to Yes) to refresh the view.
- Mapped ratings will appear with an asterisk on the rating pill.
- There is also a note on the top saying “Ratings mapped to xxxx”.
Best Practices to Avoid Issues
- While mapping ratings, select the Child project's Risk matrix on the left and the Parent project's Risk matrix on the right.
- Choose the correct severity categories while mapping ratings.
- Ensure accurate selection of cells when mapping ratings.
- Scope the Risk List View / Datagrid / Risk Show View to the Parent matrix to view Mapped Ratings.
