1. Introduction & Context

This article explains how your default dashboard is chosen when you log in, and how to change the order in which dashboards appear, both for your own view and, for system administrators, across the whole platform.

Who is it for? All users can reorder their own dashboard view. System administrators can also set the global dashboard order.

What does it impact? Personal changes affect only your own view. Global changes affect which dashboard first-time users see on initial login.

2. Key Features & Functions

• Default dashboard: your default dashboard is always the last dashboard you visited. Each time you log in, the platform opens the dashboard you most recently viewed.
• First-time login: for a first-time user with no history, the dashboard they have access to in the highest position is shown. System administrators control this through the dashboard order.
• Personal order and visibility: any user can show, hide, and reorder dashboards for their own view, without affecting anyone else.
• Shared dashboards only: users only see dashboards that have been shared with them.

3. Requirements

• Any user can change their own dashboard order and visibility.
• System Administrator access is required to change the global position of dashboards.
• At least one dashboard shared with you to view or reorder.

4. Step-by-Step Guide

Your own dashboard order (all users)

All users can manage the order and visibility of dashboards for their own view. These changes do not affect other users.

1. Click the Clew menu icon in the top-left corner.
2. At the top of the menu, click the current dashboard name (for example, My Dashboards or another dashboard name).
3. Click Dashboard Preferences (the gear icon).

From Dashboard Preferences, you can:

• Show or hide dashboards using the toggle switch.
• Reorder dashboards by clicking and dragging the three-line handle next to a dashboard up or down.

Changes made here apply only to you and do not affect the system-wide dashboard order.

The global dashboard order (System Administrators)

You must be a system administrator to change the global position of dashboards.

1. Navigate to Admin > Dashboard Templates.
2. Click the hyperlinked title of the dashboard you want to edit.
3. Open the Core sub-panel.

4. Update the Position field to the order you want.

Best practices:

• Place a dashboard that all users can access in the first position, to give first-time users a consistent initial experience.
• After changing positions, review the dashboard list to confirm the order.
